About SEAN
Rights & Revenue is built on lived experience, not internet theory.
There are plenty of people sharing music business tips and selling “music industry coaching” online. Most have never held the roles they’re advising you about. And definitely not at the level you're likely trying to attain or maintain.
Sean’s advantage is that he’s worked from the inside across the systems that shape outcomes: A&R, publishing, promotions, radio programming, branding, and live events, and he knows how the incentives actually work in each lane.
As Manager of Regional Promotions (Midwest) at Atlantic Records / Warner Music Group, Sean supported projects that contributed to the success of eleven #1 records in 2022 across Urban Mainstream and R&B charts, working with creators including Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Lizzo, and Missy Elliott.
That work wasn’t theoretical. It involved real-world partnerships and performance responsibility, building B2B promotions and relationships across 38 radio stations in 19 markets and working with radio groups including iHeartMedia, Audacy, Urban One, and Cox Media Group. He also collaborated on streaming-era strategy, aligning campaigns with platform trends at Spotify and Apple Music to increase regional growth opportunities across major markets.
Sean has managed catalogs and negotiated publishing and sync licensing agreements with major publishers, including Universal, Imagem, Warner Chappell, Kobalt, and Sony/ATV, driving outcomes in excess of $10M for creators. His work also includes negotiating song agreements, publishing contracts, and sync deals in excess of $5M, including a branded campaign with Mountain Dew (“All The Way Up” with Fat Joe), supervising the publishing and licensing departments for Reach Records, supporting artists including Lecrae and Andy Mineo, and serving as an advisor to SongSplits (copyright and digital split-sheet technology).
Sean has held senior A&R roles including General Manager / Vice President of A&R at Disturbing Tha Peace Records (Island Def Jam / Universal). During that era he oversaw day-to-day business affairs for Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, including catalog-related operations, publishing and licensing negotiations, and the administration of writer splits and payments tied to a career with $50M+ in U.S. singles and album sales.
As Director of A&R / Artist Development at Sony Music Group, Sean managed recording budgets of $12M+, overseeing studio processes and licensing coordination for go-to-market projects with Wyclef Jean, Tony Bennett, and Three 6 Mafia.
Before label roles, Sean built deep expertise where hits become culture: radio. During his tenure as Music Director at Hot 97 (WQHT / Emmis Communications), the station ranked #1 in the New York market, served an audience of 2M+, and generated $90M in revenue over three years. He also oversaw large-scale concert productions with $2M annual budgets generating $5M+, featuring artists including Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child, and Diddy.
As Program Director at Hot 107.9 (WHTA / Urban One), he helped launch the first Hip-Hop station in the Southeast and led a team that included on-air talent such as Ryan Cameron, LaLa Anthony, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. In that role, he also generated $25M+ in concert revenue through partnerships with artists including Jermaine Dupri, Outkast, and Usher.
Across roles, Sean has led and produced major events, ranging from brand partnerships to stadium-scale concerts, along with budget forecasting and management tied to live production. Highlights include spearheading large-scale events such as Hot 97 Summer Jam (60,000 attendees) and Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash (15,000 attendees).
If you’re trying to navigate the music industry and making decisions that could potentially affect ownership or long-term income, you should definitely talk to Sean.
